A] FRENCH SPEAKING PUBLIC SCHOOLS ARE REGULATED BY THE FRENCH MINISTRY OF EDUCATION


They are"lycée technique". The main function of the lycée is to prepare pupils to sit the baccalauréat (or bac) exam, the equivalent of British A levels. Classes in a traditional lycée cover the same range as in collège, with the addition of philosophy (for all) in the final year. The three classes (grades 10 to 12) are known as seconde, première, and terminale.

B] FRENCH SPEAKING CULINARY PROGRAMS IN SEMI-PUBLIC SCHOOLS ARE REGULATED BY THE FRENCH MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND THE FRENCH MINISTRY OF LABOR :

CAP, BEP, BAC PRO:
Vocational high school. "Lycées Pros", are providing an essentially academic and practice syllabus for young people intending to work in the catering industry. Pupils will either work towards a "Professional Bachelor degree" ("bac pro"), for which they will need to continue taking classes in the main academic subjects (French, maths, and a foreign language), a BEP (Professional education certificate), or a CAP (Professional Ability Certificate) those are credentials validated by the ministry to identify a salary reference, or to continue further studies.
